Together, we stand
When united we are stronger and when divided we fall. We sure will be able to show this in the anual Brigada Eskwela.

The Brigada Eskwela happens every opening of the school year around the country where parents, teachers and students help in cleaning, painting and fixing the classrooms. In the year of 2015, 8.8 million volunteered to help in the first school event of the year.

In an interview with Tonisito Umali, he says that not only are they fixing classroom but they are also building better ones in which can withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake and typhoon that happen 92 times a year.

Also according to Umali, that this upgraded classrooms can be emergency evacuation centers in times of calamity and the school is only place safe enough to stay.

Within the upgraded project of Deped called Brigada Eskwela Plus, they plan on having a "all schools and division awarding ceremonies" to award the schools who made a big impact in cleaning their campus and to also award LGUs with the Seal of Excellence Award.

There is also another added in the project which the Hall of Fame where all the people who did a good job in helping and cleaning the school will be recognized.
Umali also says that the budget of Deped has also increased by 25% to 533 billion pesos to support all of the new project Deped wants to do.

Since, Brigada Eskwela Plus is one of their new projects, Tonisito Umali says that "We expect all our stakeholders to bond together para mabuhay uli ang bayanihan" and not just in the opening of the school year but throughout the whole year. Brigada Eswela started in June 5.
