WITH THE NO HOMEWORK POLICY BEING THE BIGGEST ARGUEMENT TODAY, AS TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND EVEN PARENTS HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON THE MATTER. WHAT IS ACTUALLY STATED IN THE NO HOMEWORK POLICY? WHAT ARE THE PROVISIONS IN THE PLANNED BILL?

According to Philippine Education Undersecretary Jesus Mateo, Senator Grace Poe have put in No.966 bill or the No Homework Policy which states that all assignments, projects or any tasks that will be worked at at home will not be allowed during weekends. Because, Senator Poe believes that it will help the wefare of the students and the teachers. The tasks must be done all in campus so that the learners will have quality time with their parents. A violation against it will consequence a fine to the teacher or will be in prisonment.

The No Homework Policy has been implemented in 2010 which is Bill No. 392. In which "walang nakikinig" says Undersec. Mateo as it still says there that the teachers is still allowed to give their students homework if necessary.

With the rainy seasons right around the corner, there will be more to expect of suspended days but it does not mean that learners will have assignment after the suspended days to catch up. It will vary to how many suspended classes where and will be a decision between the students and parents if they will let their child go to classes on weekends to make up for the classes that were suspended.

Undersecretary Mateo says, that the Bill will still be going to a lot of processes before implemented such as getting consultations from internal stake holders such as teachers, and principals about whether it will be a good idea to implement this law. As well as more research on about this until they make a proposition paper given to the senate.
